Student & Alumni Action Board

Students from all MnSCU colleges and universities are welcome to join the SAAB. If all seats are filled, volunteers may rotate in as vacancies occur. Meetings are held the second Tuesday of every month at Metro State. Contact Nicholas if you’d like further information from a student perspective, or Kate if you would like to speak to the advisor through strategic.it@metrostate.edu.

  • Providing perspectives to the Center
  • Promoting and supporting K-12 IT education
  • Fostering collaboration among students, academic institutions and the Center

Jereme Allen

Jereme Allen

Web Site Gateway Committee

Jereme is a knowledgeable senior level web developer with experience utilizing state of the art technologies to create web applications that automate workflow processes and foster collaboration. Jereme has nine plus years of experience developing on the LAMP stack (with PHP) as well as utilizing various frameworks (specifically Symfony and CodeIgnitor), operating systems, programming languages and development environments. Jereme has a Masters in Management Information Systems and a Bachelors in Computer Information Systems.

Nicholas Bawek

Web Site Gateway Committee, College for Kids Lego Robots Course Presenter, Campus Ambassador

Nicholas A. Bawek is an undergraduate IT student at Metropolitan State University. He is currently pursuing two Bachelor's degrees in the coursework areas of Computer Information Systems and Computer Forensics, with a minor in Spanish. Projected completion dates are May 2010 (CIS), and May 2011 (CF). After earning his undergraduate degrees, the next goal is to attain a Masters degree. A dedicated student, Nicholas was the recipient of the Midwave Scholarship in Information Technology Excellence and Career Development for the 2008 spring semester. Highly motivated, he has been an active contributor to the Center for Strategic Information Technology and Security, and is currently a key member of the team that is redesigning "The Center's" IT career gateway website MnITcareers.org.

DT (Delwyn) Williams

DT (Delwyn) Williams

Campus Ambassador

Delwyn (D.T.) Williams, is married and the father of two wonderful children. He is an aspiring Information Technology Professional who expects to graduate in May of 2008 from IHCC with an Information Technology Network Security A.A.S. degree. Delwyn was a member of the IHCC Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition Team which was awarded first place for the state competition. Currently D.T. is volunteering in an internship with the Fish and Wildlife Services of the Department of the Interior in the I.T. department. To D.T., knowledge is power and to be able to use it to help people gain or use their own power is a greatly fulfilling accomplishment. He is passionate about life and the IT field, loves to laugh, and is inspired by humanity, demonstrated by the quotes he loves to share:

Terry Stellick is a student at North Hennepin Community College. An associate’s degree in Electronics led her to a career in the manufacturing industry. While there, she was exposed to various aspects of technology. This exposure piqued her interest enough to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science.

Robin Montague

Robin Montague

Robin Montague lends her many years' experience working for Global IT Security software companies to this Advisory Board. She is working toward a degree in Management and intends to use her refined skills to mentor promising technology professionals. As a presenter of the College for Kids Lego Robots course, Robin will use her accomplished presentation and relationship skills to promote Metropolitan State University and MnScu's IT degree programs. Robin was awarded the 2008 Student Senate grant for her dedication to learning and strong leadership skills.

Mathew Nyamagwa

Mathew Nyamagwa

Mathew is an international student from Kenya, Africa interested in pursuing his career in the US. He is completing his major course in Computer Forensics at Metropolitan State University. Mathew is also a Computer Science graduate from Kabarak University, Kenya.

Alois Doveld Monger II

Alois Doveld Monger II

Alois is a graduating senior of Metropolitan State University with a major in Information Assurance and a minor in Project Management. He is also a senior student at the University of Minnesota's Curtis L. Carlson School of Management majoring in Entrepreneurial Management. He holds an Associates of Applied Science in Computer Support & Network Administration, along with an Information Assurance diploma and several other certificates from the Minneapolis Community & Technical College. Alois works full-time for Target Corporation in their Technology Assurance team as an Technology Associate (IT Auditor). He is the outgoing President of the National Association of Black Accountants (NABA) Minneapolis – St Paul Student Chapter at Metropolitan State University. Alois was also a recipient of the Spring 2008 Midwave Scholarship for Information Technology Excellence and Career Development.

David Perez

David Perez

David is currently working on a Network Technology and Security degre at Inver Hills Community College. He plans to focus in the security field because he believes that being able to protect the network impacts numerous people. He looks forward to participating on the SAAB as it is an opportunity to help with different projects and also to network with other students.
