Course CP01: Check Point Full Disk Encryption (FDE): Administration & Deployment

Description: This hands-on 1-day course covers the features and capabilities of Check Point's Full Disk Encryption (FDE) product (formerly Pointsec) and uses a lab-based approach to installation, configuration and troubleshooting. In addition you will be able to explore various options for deployment suitable for your specific environment.

Dates:

  • Friday, April 16 at Metropolitan State University, Saint Paul, MN (8:30am-4:30pm)
  • Friday, May 21 at South Central College, North Mankato, MN (8:30am-4:30pm)

Preparation: Bring a laptop with administrative access. Prefer laptop without FDE preinstalled if you wish to complete all labs.

Course CP02: Check Point Protector Administration and Advanced Full Disk Encryption

Description: This hands-on 1-day course is covers the features and capabilities of Check Point's Media Encryption (ME) product (formerly Protector) and uses a lab-based approach to deployment, management, security and recovery. In the afternoon session, you will build on your FDE knowledge and skills addressing advanced topics and solutions. For a detailed outline see below.

  • Saturday, April 17 at Metropolitan State University, Saint Paul, MN (8:30am-4:30pm)
  • Saturday, May 22 at South Central College, North Mankato, MN (8:30am-4:30pm)

Prerequisite: CP01 or equivalent knowledge.
Preparation: Bring a laptop with administrative access.

Cost: No cost to attendee directly. Costs are being paid by the Minnesota Office of Enterprise Technology and MnSCU ITS. These courses are meant for information technology staffers within the MnSCU system and the State of Minnesota. As part of the registration process, you are asked to indicate supervisory approval to take this course as part of your employment training.
