Making Learning Fun

Minnesota High Tech Association: Tekne Award

Imagine programming a robot using a computer. Cool, huh? Well, this Friday, 30 November, 20 fourth graders from Eastern Heights Elementary will enjoy learning how.

The Center for Strategic IT & Security (the Center) in collaboration with College for Kids offers this hands-on Lego robot class led by programming and software instructor Andy Chrastek from Minneapolis Community and Technical College (MCTC).

The College for Kids program offered by Metropolitan State University gives elementary school students a comprehensive college exploration experience.

The Center, collaborating with Metropolitan, MCTC, and Inver Hills Community College plans to continue reaching out to K-12 students to help them discover the worlds of computers and information technology - a field of expertise much needed by Minnesota employers.
