Ten Midwave Scholarships in Information Technology Excellence and Career Development will be awarded to information technology and computer science students this November. The $1000 scholarships will be applied to spring 2008 semester studies. Interested students may visit http://www.StrategicIT.org for further information and to download the necessary forms. Applications must be received by December 1, 2007. Requirements for the award include completion of 12 credits toward a declared major or in a certificate program, a 3.0 GPA, and a written essay.
"These scholarships will provide educational opportunities to MnSCU students who intend to pursue a career in the high-tech industry in Minnesota," said Bruce Lindberg, executive director of the Center for Strategic Information Technology and Security (CSITS). "Midwave scholarships will be awarded annually for both Spring and for Fall semesters by the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities Foundation through CSITS."
Jobs in high-tech fields are expected to grow up to 36 percent by 21014. Midwave Corporation, sponsor of the scholarships and one of the region's fastest growing technology solutions companies, is invested in helping the Minnesota business climate by assisting students in related study programs. |
