Charged with helping Minnesota businesses flourish through close relationships with IT students and faculty, and developing cutting-edge curriculum, the Center for Strategic Information Technology and Security will launch its IT Student and Business web portal, MnITcareers.org, as a key initiative in mid September, 2007.
Employers can review IT-specific resumes and locate students who would make good candidates for available internships and jobs.
MnSCU IT students enrolled in programs such as MIS, computer science, software development, network technology and security, information assurance, and computer forensics can access information on new job and internship postings. By registering on MnITcareers.org, students can also engage in networking and learning opportunities.
Students from Metropolitan State University, Inver Hills Community College, and Minneapolis Technical and Community College and members of the business community gain the Center advantage by visiting www.MnITcareers.org and completing an online registration.
In addition to the Student-business portal, the Center's other recent successes include a series of stellar seminars with leaders in the IT field such as Jay Pipes, which students attended at no fee. Upcoming projects include a December conference, numerous exclusive internships, career fairs, and ongoing presentations.
