Bioinfomatics and Entertainment Computing were the hot topics at the symposium. Morning keynote speakers included professor Paul Tymann, chair of the Computer Science Department at Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, New York presenting "BioInformatics: Curriculum Design and Implementation" and Dr. Eric D. Wieben, professor and director of the Mayo Genomics Reasearch Center at Mayo Clinic who offered "BioScience: Curent Status and Future Challenge."In the afternoon, Dr. Robin Burke, assistant professor at the School of Computer Science, Telecommunications, and Information Systems at DePaul University, Chicago spoke on "Computer Art and Game: Curriculum Design and Implementation." Chris Melissinos, the chief gaming officer for SUN Microsystems, Inc. spoke on "Gaming and Virtual Environment Development and Challenge." |
