IT Industry-Higher Education Alignment
View the site!
Aligning student learning outcomes with demands of the evolving IT workplace is one of the four primary strategic goals of Advance IT Minnesota. Efforts are focused on enhancing career preparation and professional development through improvement and innovation in our academic curricula and credentials, especially in IT-related degree programs from the associate through graduate level.
This goal is pursued through an annual conference and RFP process that is open to all MnSCU faculty who teach in IT-related programs. Criteria for funding projects encourage collaboration across multiple institutions and businesses, innovation in methods and delivery, industry-based experiential learning, and sustainability of outcomes.
Details on the first annual IT Education-Industry Conference planned for April 2010 and the annual RFP process will be posted by mid December on this site.
Strategic Leadership Team: Industry-Education Alignment
This team is one of three governance bodies of Advance IT Minnesota, comprised of IT industry representatives, faculty, senior educational administrators and students. IT industry representatives comprise the largest proportion of the SLT membership.
The SLT plays four primary roles:
1. Provides high-level strategic guidance in determining the direction of change and innovation;
2. Provides guidance on implementation and processes related to RFPs and project evaluation.
3. Participates in annual decisions about investment allocations and project evaluation;
4. Participates in annual industry-faculty conference and in specific projects or activities based on personal or organizational interests
